Moda Club July 2018

So fun to see everyone!
For those of you who weren't able to join us,
here are the highlights.

Back in 2012, we did a dresdan plate sew along with
Bunny Hill
Scrappy Plates with Scallop Border
You can find her 4 part tutorial,
for making this small quilt here

We also looked at the Disappearing Dresdan.
With the help of the prairie point tool, there is no need to make
a center for this desdan.
Susan Cleveland demonstrates how to use the prairie point tool
in this short video

Anna Mary, did a very nice demo
on how to make a curved dresdan plate
If you missed her demo, here is a link to a tutorial.
Anna Mary, used a non fusible interfacing.

I made the shaded, or split, dresdan.
To get this affect, you sew two strips of fabric together.  Center your dresdan ruler so the seam is in the middle.

Rose made a beautiful pillow!
She featured the Spiked Dresdan.

Sandy made up a freebie link, by Clover and Violet
She used a charm pack and 1 yard of fabric for background, center and back of pillow. Be sure to stop in to see this cute sample!

We hope to have inspired you a little.
Next month, there will be a special door prize for anyone who brings in a dresdan show & tell.

Our new featured quilt...
Tranquility
Kits are available at Ben's.

Mark your calendars now.
Moda Club will meet again on
8/15/18 at 1p.m.

Moda Club Reminder for July 2018

Moda Club Meets this Wednesday,
July 18, at 1p.m.

Last month, we looked at small projects for Summer Sewing.
We've been posting some daily project inspirations on our facebook page too.
Hope to see a few at Show & Tell.

Moda Bake Shop is hosting a "Summer Camp"
They are offering several different "pathways" to choose from as you make a medallion quilt.
Medallion Quilts. Popular through the early 1800s, Medallion quilts were made in a style that had actually been brought to America from Europe by the colonists. In simplest terms, a medallion quilt is made of a central motif surrounded by multiple borders.

Choose Your Own Adventure, started June 25th.  All instructions for catching up are still posted.

Looking forward to sharing what we've been up to.  Hope you all are enjoying these wonderful Summer Days!
