July Moda Club

It sure was a beautiful day. So glad to see so many of you!

For those of you out enjoying Summer, this is what we shared.

Flat Iron Travel Case

We had linked this with the reminder post, but seeing it in person...

Tari did use a thermal batting.

Featured Patterns:

Keep the Change, has two inside pockets and a "snap" pocket on the back. This one, on display at the shop,

is the largest of the three versions in the pattern.

Night Light, by Villa Rosa

This lap quilt was made with one charm pack and some yardage.

It would be beautiful in batiks! You could use four charm packs, and make it without borders. This pattern calls for one charm pack and 1/2 yard of two fabrics (for the four patches). I added 1/6 yard, for an inner border (cut 1.5 inch), and 1 yard for an outer border (cut 4.5 inches) and binding (cut 2.5 inches) This would be a great first quilt for a new quilter. So many options....

We have received all our Christmas and Halloween fabrics.

It's way too early to start thinking about those dates,

but not too early to start making some quick projects/gifts.

Anna Mary, made me this great table runner that,

oh to subtly, says Trick or Treat.

It's a Pieced Tree Pattern, called Frame Up.

Linda, made all these Oliver + S Bow Hair Ties.

What a wonderful way to use up those scraps!

You all know how much I like Show & Tell! It is always so inspiring to see what others are making. This month, Shari brought in an applique, from something

we had linked back in March.

It is Honey Bunny, from Don't Look Now.

October Moda Club

I can hardly believe that our October, Moda Club has come and gone....Christmas will be here before we know it!

Big Sur, by Quilter's Dream

Rose shared this tote with us. It is perfect for six fat quarters, or like Rose, you could use yardage. Rose used flannel and batiks to make this great Fall tote.

Our "Not a Mystery", Mystery Quilt Challenge, is coming to a close with the final step.

Step Three.

If you complete this quilt top by December, we will put your name in a drawing for a door prize. Have it quilted and bound to get your name in the drawing twice. I'm so excited this quilt done up in other fabric combinations.

Through the Looking Glass

Tari, made this, fat quarter friendly, baby quilt to share with us. Just 4 fat quarters and 1 1/8 yard of fabric, makes this adorable quilt top!

July Moda Club

Christmas in July

For you knitters, the gray Christmas Stocking s a new sample. Pattern is by Ann Norling. The other three were made from a Pure and Simple Pattern.

New Challenge: Between now and our December Moda Club, if you make something using our newest Christmas fabrics, we will put your name in a drawing for a free yard of fabric. If you use one of our new Christmas panels, we will put your name in the drawing twice.

June Moda Club Progam

It was great to see so many of you and SO MUCH show and tell! Keep it up gals! Show and tell is my favorite part. Love seeing what you are making!

Kathy shared the fourth, and final, small quilt from Lori Smith's Fat Quarter Book.

Next month (July), we will have a door prize drawing. To be included in this drawing,

you just need to make 4 small quilts from the Fat Quarter Book. They do not need to be framed.

Your choice of which four you make. We saw a couple of very nice ones during show and tell...

Teresa, did a WONDERFUL presentation on the Quick Curved Ruler. This table topper pattern is included with the ruler.

She covers how to cut, sew and square up your blocks.

Teresa made several table toppers with this ruler.

Teresa uses two layers of batting and insul bright for her table toppers.

Makes it great for using hot dishes on.

There are at least 24 different quilt patterns using this ruler.

Welcome to Shop the Top Hop!

All shops are open today from 9a.m.-7p.m.

Ben's charm is the Pincushion!

Last year, at Moda Club, we featured a different pincushion each month. This pincushion, from Moda Bakeshop, uses just two 2.5" strips. Jelly Roll Version of the Giant Pincushion.

You will need to scroll down a few pages to find the jelly roll version.

At Ben's all fabric, yarn and sewing notions (thread, zippers, rulers, etc)

will be 20% off all week for passport holders.

Linda, made this jelly roll friendly quilt. It's called Little Rays of Sunshine.

Instructions are free at Moda Bakeshop.

This quilt is made with one jelly roll, 2 1/2 yards of coordinating fabric, and 1/2 yard for binding.

It measures 62" X 70", when completed, and uses the 60 degree ruler.

Some how it seems wrong to be talking about Christmas, when it is only July...But, those of us that love to quilt, sew and knit, need time to put these labors of love together. Which means, we need to be starting these projects now.
