KNITTING 101
BEGINNING KNITTING
TUESDAYS, 11/5-12/10
4:00-6:00 PM
While being guided through the construction of a scarf, students will be introduced to the fundamental techniques of knitting. Students will learn to cast on, knit, purl, work with multiple colors and bind off. Increasing and decreasing will be demonstrated. Guaging, swatching, and pattern reading will be discussed.
At the conclusion of this intensive class, students will have a solid foundation on which to further build their skill.
Needles: #10 or #10 1/2 circular, at least 16" long
Yarn: 2 skeins of bluky weight wool or wool blend.
No 100% cotton, silk or synthetic
Note: It can be difficult to see stitch details in very dark or very light fabric. Try to stick with mid-toned yarn. Yarn can be purchased on the first day of class.
Cost: $40.00/person. Preregistration and prepayment required. Unless the class is cancelled, no refunds will be given after Sunday, 11/3. No exceptions.
